HGV Class 2 Driver / Crew Leader – Council Services
Induction Date: 3rd August
Please note: Candidates must be available to start on this date. Applications from candidates unable to attend the induction will not be considered.
Telephone interviews: Week commencing Monday 20th June (allocated timeslots will be provided).
We are currently recruiting an experienced HGV Class 2 Driver / Crew Leader to join a Council services team. This is an excellent opportunity for a reliable and safety-focused individual who can operate heavy goods vehicles while supporting and leading a small crew on daily routes.
Key Requirements:
*
Valid Category C (HGV Class 2) driving licence and Driver Qualification Card (CPC) – essential.
*
Experience carrying out vehicle safety checks and basic maintenance to ensure legal roadworthiness.
*
Strong knowledge of Health & Safety procedures and safe working practices in traffic environments.
*
Ability to lead a small team, provide clear instructions, and support daily performance.
*
Confident using in-cab technology and software to record service information and incidents.
*
Excellent communication skills with colleagues, supervisors, and members of the public.
*
Flexible approach with the ability to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and in all weather conditions.
*
Physically fit with a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness, safety, and customer service.
*
Ability to represent the Council positively at all times.
Boots and gloves will be provided by the client.
