Bolton
We are working with a long-established, family-owned construction contractor based in Bolton that is looking to appoint a Small Works Manager to support the delivery of refurbishment, maintenance, and minor works projects across the North West.
This is a varied role offering responsibility from enquiry through to completion. You'll manage multiple small projects at any one time, liaising with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and site teams to ensure works are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to a high standard.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
* Managing multiple small works and refurbishment projects from initial enquiry through to final completion.
* Planning programmes of work, coordinating labour, materials, and subcontractors to meet project deadlines.
* Carrying out site visits to monitor progress, quality, and health & safety compliance.
* Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.
* Preparing quotations and supporting the pricing of additional works where required.
* Monitoring project costs, budgets, and material requirements to ensure commercial performance.
* Ordering materials and coordinating deliveries to site.
* Resolving site issues quickly to minimise delays and keep projects on track.
* Ensuring all works are completed in line with client specifications, company standards, and current legislation.
Requirements
* Previous experience managing small works, refurbishment, maintenance, or fit out projects.
* Background within construction, building maintenance, or facilities management.
* Good commercial awareness with an understanding of project costs and budgets.
* Strong organisational and communication skills.
* Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
* Confident working with clients, subcontractors, and site teams.
* Full UK driving licence.
