Welder Fabricator
Location: Chester
Salary: £19.11 per hour
Hours: Monday to Thursday, 6:45am – 4:15pm (36 hours per week)
Pertemps are currently recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Welder Fabricator to join their engineering team based in Chester. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established manufacturing business offering a four-day working week and the opportunity to develop specialist welding skills.
The RoleThe successful candidate will be responsible for the fabrication and welding of steel products, working from engineering drawings to produce high-quality components. You will also have the opportunity to receive training in specialist welding techniques for lead products, expanding your skills within a supportive engineering environment.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out MIG, TIG and ARC welding on mild steel, stainless steel and other steel products.
Fabricate, cut, shape and assemble metal components to engineering drawings and specifications.
Produce high-quality welds while maintaining excellent attention to detail.
Learn specialist lead welding techniques through structured training.
Interpret technical drawings, welding symbols and fabrication specifications.
Operate and maintain welding and fabrication equipment safely and efficiently.
Carry out quality inspections to ensure all completed work meets the required standards.
Work collaboratively with engineers and the wider production team to meet project deadlines.
Contribute ideas to improve fabrication processes and overall efficiency.
Adhere to all health and safety procedures, including the correct use of PPE and safe handling of specialist materials.
About YouThe ideal candidate will have:
NVQ Level 3 in Welding, Fabrication or a related discipline.
Proven experience welding mild steel and stainless steel.
Strong MIG, TIG and ARC welding experience.
The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and welding symbols.
Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to producing quality work.
A willingness to learn new welding techniques and develop specialist skills.
Good manual dexterity and a proactive approach to work.
Desirable
Experience welding in a variety of positions (flat, horizontal, vertical and overhead).
Previous experience of lead welding (training will be provided if required).
Experience working within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
Additional InformationThe successful candidate will be required to undergo Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearance before commencing employment. This process will be arranged and funded by our client.
