Role: Wood Machinist
Location: Ipswich, Suffolk
Hours: Monday to Friday, 07:00 - 15:30
Pay: £14.00 - £15.00 p/hour (DOE)
Contract: Temporary to Permanent
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Wood Machinist to join a well-established joinery and manufacturing business in Ipswich. This role is ideal for someone who has previous wood machining experience and is confident working independently within a busy workshop environment.
Wood Machinist Duties:
Operating woodworking machinery including spindle moulders, routers, saws, band saws, drum sanders, and other workshop equipment
Working from technical drawings and job specifications
Preparing and machining timber components accurately to customer requirements
Carrying out quality checks to ensure finished products meet required standards
Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised workshop environmentWhat We're Looking For:
Previous experience working as a Wood Machinist within a joinery or woodworking environment
NVQ, apprenticeship, or relevant training in Joinery or Carpentry (desirable)
Ability to read and work from technical drawings
Confident using a range of woodworking machinery
Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
