About the Role
Telford & Wrekin Council is seeking a dedicated Senior Social Worker to join their Family Safeguarding Team. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a supportive service, making a real difference to children and families while managing complex safeguarding cases.
As a Senior Social Worker, you will be responsible for managing a varied and complex caseload, undertaking assessments, care planning, and delivering effective interventions to ensure positive outcomes for children and families.
Key Responsibilities
Manage a diverse and complex caseload within Family Safeguarding.
Complete assessments, care planning, and interventions to support children and families.
Assess and manage risk, making informed, evidence-based decisions.
Contribute to safeguarding processes and court proceedings where required.
Apply relevant legislation, policies, and best practice to deliver child-focused services.
Build and maintain strong relationships with children, families, and multi-agency professionals.
Deliver a range of interventions and review outcomes, adapting plans where necessary.
Maintain accurate records and produce high-quality reports, including court documentation.
Undertake preventative work aimed at reducing risk and strengthening family resilience.
Support multi-agency working and contribute to continuous service improvement.Requirements
Qualified Social Worker with current Social Work England registration.
Minimum 3 years post-qualified experience working within Children's Services.
Strong experience in safeguarding, assessments, child protection, and care planning.
Ability to manage complex caseloads and make sound professional decisions.
Excellent knowledge of relevant children's social care legislation, policies, and frameworks.
Strong communication, assessment, and relationship-building skills.
