Are you a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer looking to develop your career within a large, well-established engineering team where you'll be supported, challenged and given the opportunity to work on some of the most advanced automation in the UK?
We are working with one of the UK's leading pharmaceutical distribution businesses, operating a highly automated distribution centre that plays a vital role in the healthcare supply chain. Every day, advanced automation systems ensure critical medicines and healthcare products are delivered safely and efficiently across the UK.
Due to continued investment in both automation and engineering, the business is looking to recruit a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join its well-established engineering team at its Romford site.
This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who wants to work alongside experienced maintenance professionals in a structured environment where training, mentoring and continuous development are genuinely part of the culture. Whether you're electrically biased or mechanically biased and looking to broaden your skills, you'll be given the support to develop your technical knowledge on advanced automated warehouse systems.
Rather than spending every shift firefighting breakdowns, you'll become part of a proactive engineering team focused on preventative maintenance, reliability improvements and continuous improvement projects.
Responsibilities of a Maintenance Engineer:
Carry out planned preventative maintenance across automated warehouse and materials handling systems
Respond to electrical and mechanical breakdowns to minimise downtime
Fault find across conveyors, automated storage systems and warehouse automation equipment
Maintain and repair site automation and materials handling equipment
Complete maintenance activities using the site's CMMS system
Support root cause analysis and continuous improvement projects
Work closely with operations to maximise equipment reliability and performance, assisting with planned shutdowns and upgrades
Skills & Qualifications of a Maintenance Engineer:
NVQ Level 3 or equivalent engineering qualification, apprentice-trained
Experience within manufacturing, FMCG, logistics, warehousing or automated environments
Strong electrical or mechanical fault-finding skills
Mechanically biased engineers looking to develop electrical skills, or electrical engineers wanting to expand their automation knowledge, are encouraged to apply
CMMS experience desirable, with a positive attitude and strong communication and team-working skills
Benefits of a Maintenance Engineer:
£48,551 base saley
Structured shift pattern offering a good work-life balance
Structured engineering training and development programme
Opportunity to develop electrical and automation skills
Work alongside a large, experienced engineering team
Genuine career progression opportunities
Exposure to industry-leading automated warehouse technology
