This is an excellent opportunity for a Chartered Quantity Surveyor looking to take on a leadership role within a growing and collaborative consultancy. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering prestigious projects, developing long-term client relationships, mentoring junior surveyors and supporting the continued growth of the business.

The consultancy has built an outstanding reputation for delivering high-quality Quantity Surveying and Cost Management services, combining technical excellence with a personable, client-focused approach.

Projects

The Manchester office delivers an exceptional portfolio of projects across the ultra-prime residential, prime residential, commercial and education sectors.

A significant proportion of the workload centres on some of the UK's most prestigious private residential developments, including luxury new-build homes, substantial country residences, complex refurbishments, listed buildings and high-specification bespoke properties for private clients. Alongside this, the team also delivers multi-residential developments, commercial schemes and education projects, providing a varied and technically rewarding workload.

Projects are typically delivered from inception through to completion, with Quantity Surveyors providing strategic cost management, procurement advice, contract administration and commercial leadership throughout the full project lifecycle. This role offers significant client exposure, the opportunity to lead high-value commissions and the chance to work on some of the UK's most architecturally impressive residential developments.

The Opportunity

As an Associate Quantity Surveyor, you'll take ownership of a varied portfolio of projects while acting as a trusted advisor to clients throughout the project lifecycle.

Working closely with the senior leadership team, you'll lead project delivery, manage key client relationships, mentor junior colleagues and contribute to the continued growth of the Manchester office. This role offers the opportunity to influence both project outcomes and the wider success of the business.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the delivery of Quantity Surveying and Cost Management services across multiple projects.

Manage projects from feasibility through to final account.

Prepare cost plans, procurement strategies, tender documentation and commercial reports.

Administer construction contracts and provide strategic commercial advice.

Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants and contractors.

Mentor and support junior Quantity Surveyors and APC candidates.

Identify opportunities for repeat business and contribute to business development activities.

Ensure projects are delivered to the highest commercial and professional standards.

About You

The successful candidate will be an experienced Chartered Quantity Surveyor with a consultancy background and a passion for delivering exceptional client service.

You'll ideally have:

MRICS qualification.

Strong consultancy experience delivering high-quality residential and/or commercial projects.

Excellent pre- and post-contract Quantity Surveying experience.

A strong understanding of JCT contracts.

Experience leading projects and managing client relationships.

Previous experience mentoring or supporting junior surveyors.

Strong commercial awareness and excellent communication skills.

A proactive, collaborative and solutions-focused approach.

What's on Offer

A leadership opportunity within a highly respected and growing consultancy.

Exposure to an outstanding portfolio of prestigious, high-value projects.

The opportunity to work on some of the UK's finest private residential developments alongside commercial and education schemes.

Clear opportunities for continued career progression.

A collaborative, supportive and professional working environment.

Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package.

The opportunity to play a key role in the continued growth of the Manchester office.

This is an outstanding opportunity for an ambitious Chartered Quantity Surveyor seeking to join a consultancy recognised for delivering exceptional projects, building lasting client relationships and investing in its people.
