We are supporting a leading global brand in the sports and retail industry in hiring a Senior Marketplace Business Development Professional to join their EMEA Marketplace team.
The Role
You'll operate at the center of marketplace strategy, business analytics, and commercial decision-making, supporting the development of a winning marketplace ecosystem across EMEA.
Working closely with teams across Sales, Marketplace, Strategy, Merchandising, Finance, Marketing, Digital, and Country Leadership, you'll help identify growth opportunities, support strategic planning, and drive initiatives that strengthen market share across multiple distribution channels.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to marketplace mapping and analysis across countries, cities, sports, and distribution channels
- Identify growth opportunities, white spaces, and marketplace headroom through data-driven insights and market research
- Partner with local and central teams to ensure a consistent and integrated marketplace strategy across EMEA
- Support the connection between partner strategic plans and future-state marketplace development
- Analyze market, consumer, and competitive trends to provide actionable recommendations
- Drive performance tracking, reporting, and business reviews across key markets and strategic initiatives
- Collaborate with stakeholders to improve processes, reporting standards, and operational efficiency
- Support the development of long-term marketplace strategies, particularly across emerging markets and high-potential regions
- Build compelling business narratives and presentations for senior leadership audiences
- Serve as a key link between local market teams and central functions, ensuring insights and opportunities are translated into action
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of experience in business development, market intelligence, strategy, commercial analytics, consulting, or a related field
- Strong analytical capabilities with experience turning complex data into clear business insights and recommendations
- Experience in market research, competitive analysis, marketplace development, or commercial strategy
- Proven ability to manage multiple stakeholders and work effectively in a highly matrixed environment
- Strong business acumen with an understanding of market dynamics, growth opportunities, and commercial performance drivers
- Excellent communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders
- Experience using data visualization and analytics tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Circana, Euromonitor, or similar platforms is an advantage
- Exposure to retail, wholesale, marketplace, E-commerce, or consumer goods environments is highly desirable
- Proactive, curious, and solution-oriented mindset with a strong ability to navigate ambiguity.
