SEMH Primary Teacher
Prospero Teaching is working with a specialist SEMH school in the Salisbury area to recruit a dedicated and enthusiastic Primary Teacher (QTS) for a September start. This is an excellent opportunity to join a supportive and nurturing environment that works with pupils who have social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs.
The school provides a highly personalised approach to education, focusing on building confidence, emotional resilience, and positive relationships alongside academic achievement. This role would suit an experienced teacher or confident ECT who is passionate about supporting pupils with additional needs and making a meaningful impact on their educational journey.
The Role:
Deliver engaging and differentiated lessons across the primary curriculum
Adapt teaching to meet the individual needs of pupils with SEMH needs
Support pupils' academic, social, and emotional development
Create a positive, structured, and inclusive classroom environment
Build strong relationships that promote engagement and learning
Monitor progress and provide regular feedback
Work closely with teaching assistants, pastoral staff, and wider support teams
Promote positive behaviour and emotional regulation strategies
Follow safeguarding and school policies consistently
Ideal Candidate:
Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Experience teaching within a primary setting
Strong understanding of the primary curriculum
Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
Patient, resilient, and relationship‑focused approach
Able to adapt teaching to meet a range of learning and emotional needs
Passionate about supporting pupils with SEMH needs
Suitable for experienced teachers and ECTs
Contract Details:

Working Pattern: Full‑time
Contract Type: Permanent
Pay Rate: £32,916 - £51,047 per annum (M1-U3)
Key Stage: Primary

QTS required
Experience working with SEMH or SEN pupils beneficial but not essential
