We are recruiting for a HGV Technician to join our client’s busy commercial vehicle workshop in Southampton, Hampshire. This position offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced HGV Technician seeking a stable, rewarding career within a leading UK dealership group. The role involves working on a fleet of HGVs, maintaining operational efficiency, and providing essential roadside support.
Benefits:
Basic salary of £48,600 per year
Overtime available, earning up to £19.50 per hour depending on shift worked
48-hour week, 4 days on 4 days off, from 06:00 to 18:00 (days)
Continuous manufacturer-approved training programmes
22 days holiday, increasing with service

Annual appraisals and career progression opportunities
Employee wellbeing supportDuties of a HGV Technician:
Diagnosing and repairing vehicles according to manufacturer standards
Carrying out servicing, repairs, and fault diagnosis on HGVs
Roadside breakdown assistance and call-outs
Conducting vehicle inspections and MOT preparation/presentation
Performing vehicle fault diagnosis and defect repairs
Ensuring all work is completed within standard times
Accurate completion of all relevant paperworkRequirements of a HGV Technician:
NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds qualification or equivalent as a HGV Technician
Proven experience working on HGVs or Commercial Vehicles
Strong organisational skills and technical knowledge
Ability to use own initiative and work independently
Full UK Driving Licence; HGV licence is advantageous
Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team
