SEMH Teacher
Prospero Teaching is working with a specialist education provision in the Reading area to recruit a passionate and dedicated Teacher (QTS) for a permanent role starting in September.
This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified teacher looking to make a meaningful impact on the lives of young people who benefit from a smaller, more personalised learning environment. The setting supports pupils who may have experienced barriers to learning in mainstream education and focuses on helping students re-engage with learning, develop confidence, and achieve positive outcomes.
The school welcomes applications from teachers across a range of subject specialisms and does not require previous experience working within an alternative provision. Full support will be provided for teachers who are interested in transitioning into a specialist setting.
The Role:
Deliver engaging and differentiated lessons across your subject specialism
Support pupils with a range of educational, social, and emotional needs
Build positive relationships that promote engagement and progress
Adapt teaching strategies to meet individual learning needs
Maintain high expectations for behaviour and achievement
Monitor progress and provide regular feedback to students
Work collaboratively with support staff, pastoral teams, and families
Create a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment
Follow safeguarding and school policies consistently
Ideal Candidate:
Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Passionate about supporting young people to achieve their potential
Strong classroom management and relationship-building skills
Confident adapting lessons to meet diverse learning needs
Open to working within a specialist educational setting
Teachers from all secondary subject specialisms are encouraged to apply
ECTs with strong placement experience may also be considered

Pay Rate: £32,916 - £51,047 per annum (M1-U3)
