Estimator / Quantity Surveyor
My client offers one of the best working environments in the subcontracting fit out industry.
Bold statement, I know.
Let me explain why.
I am working with an international brand that genuinely dominates its market on a global scale, operating with a level of presence that very few competitors can rival. Despite this, they have retained a true family-business mentality, which is reflected in their culture, how they treat their staff, and ultimately their exceptionally low staff turnover.
In fact, the only time I typically have the opportunity to recruit for them is when someone retires.
They were also ahead of the curve long before flexible working became the norm. Hybrid working has been part of their culture for years, well before COVID changed perceptions across the industry. It is just one example of how they consistently stay ahead of trends and, more importantly, why people stay.
So, what do they actually do?
As part of a global PLC within the construction sector, this particular subcontracting division specialises in the design, manufacture, and installation of raised access flooring for high-end commercial fit out projects. Their work is predominantly London-based, delivering both CAT A and CAT B schemes for tier-one main contractors.
Due to an upcoming retirement, they are now looking to bring a Quantity Surveyor into their close-knit commercial team. You will report directly to the Surveying Director and work alongside a Senior QS and two Project Quantity Surveyors, giving you strong support as well as clear visibility within the business.
There is an immediate need for someone who can get involved with pricing and tendering. The business is entering a quieter period before what is expected to be a very busy end to the year, with a strong pipeline already secured for 2027. In the short term, you will play a key role in pricing incoming tenders, helping the business stay on top of a high volume of opportunities. From around October onwards, you will transition into running your own projects commercially.
This role will require you to be comfortable across the full commercial lifecycle, including pricing variations, submitting applications, managing monthly CVRs, procurement, and final accounts.
This is a genuinely excellent opportunity for someone seeking flexibility, including the ability to work from home, while being part of a supportive and highly regarded commercial team. You will also have the chance to contribute to some of London’s most high-profile commercial fit out projects, within a business where people build long-term careers rather than short-term moves
