At Wilf Ward Family Trust, we believe that great support starts with great people. We're looking for an experienced and proactive Workforce Planner to play a key role in transforming how we plan, deploy, and support our workforce across the organisation.
This is an exciting opportunity to lead the implementation and ongoing optimisation of a new digital rostering system, helping our managers create high-quality, person-centred rosters that deliver excellent outcomes for the people we support while ensuring operational efficiency.
If you're passionate about workforce planning, enjoy using data to drive improvement, and have the confidence to coach and influence others, we'd love to hear from you.
About the Role
As Workforce Planner, you'll become the organisation's expert in our new electronic rostering system, supporting its successful rollout and embedding best practice across services.
Working closely with Operational, Digital, Finance and People teams, you'll help managers build compliant, effective and efficient rosters that meet commissioned hours, maximise support time, and reduce unnecessary costs.
This is a highly visible role that combines system expertise, data analysis, coaching, governance, and continuous improvement.

Leading Digital Rostering Excellence
Deliver training and hands-on support to managers throughout implementation and beyond.
Develop and maintain workforce planning standards, templates and guidance.
Support managers to publish high-quality rosters at least 12 weeks in advance.
Review rosters, identify trends and areas for improvement, and provide structured feedback.
Help services respond to changing staffing requirements and commissioned hours.
Provide targeted rostering support during exceptional circumstances.
Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce waste and maximise productive support hours.
Analyse workforce data to identify trends in agency use, overtime, vacancies, absence and staffing gaps.
Produce meaningful reports and workforce planning insights for senior leaders.
Challenge constructively, promote accountability and help remove barriers to effective workforce planning.
About You
We're looking for someone who combines technical expertise with strong relationship-building skills.
Experience in workforce planning and rota management within a social care environment.
Experience using electronic rostering systems such as Sona, Log My Care, Allocate Optima, Nourish or similar platforms.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret workforce data and translate findings into practical actions.

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
