Are you somebody that has experience in delivering care/support to vulnerable people and feel like you'd enjoy a new challenge in a rewarding environment? At Vision for Education, we are currently seeking experienced professionals to work as SEND Teaching Assistant in a mainstrean primary school.
The Role – SEND Teaching Assistant
Location: Peterborough
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm
Start Date: September 2026
Contract: Full time preferred
Working as a SEND Teaching Assistant, you'll be working with children aged 2–11 with a variety of complex needs, including autism, physical disabilities, and learning difficulties.
Responsibilities for the SEND Teaching Assistant role include:
Providing one-to-one and small group support
Aiding communication and classroom engagement
Supporting mobility and physical needs
Delivering personal care respectfully and sensitively
Working closely with teaching staff and therapists to provide a nurturing environment
What we're looking for:
Experience in care or support work (children or adults)
A compassionate and resilient nature
Confidence in providing personal care when needed
Ability to commit to the school’s working hours
An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
Able to provide references, and proof of right to work and address
