A thriving secondary academy in Newham, London is seeking a dedicated and proactive Non-Teaching Head of Year to join its pastoral team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting young people and creating a positive learning environment.
Working Hours:
8:00am – 4:00pm
Key Responsibilities
* Visit lessons to support students and promote positive behaviour.
* Respond promptly to on-call requests when students require behavioural support.
* Supervise after-school detentions.
* Respond to initial parent enquiries via email.
* Meet with parents to discuss behaviour concerns and agree on appropriate support strategies.
* Work closely with teaching staff and the wider pastoral team to ensure students receive the support they need to succeed.
About You
We are looking for someone who:
* Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Is confident managing behaviour in a calm, professional, and consistent manner.
* Can build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
* Is organised, resilient, and able to respond effectively in a fast-paced school environment.
* Has experience working with young people in an educational or pastoral setting (desirable).
