Site Engineer - Civil Engineering (Water / Infrastructure)
Location: South East / Thames Water region (regional projects)
Salary: £45,000 - £50,000 + car/car allowance + package

A leading UK civil engineering contractor is looking to appoint a Site Engineer to support delivery across a portfolio of water and infrastructure projects. Operating as a tier-one partner on major frameworks, this is an opportunity to join a business with a strong pipeline of secured work and a clear focus on long-term career development.
This role will suit a Site Engineer with experience in civil engineering or water sector projects who is looking for stability, technical variety and progression within a well-established organisation.
The role
You will provide site engineering support across multiple schemes, ensuring works are delivered safely, accurately and in line with design requirements.
Key responsibilities include:
Setting out works in accordance with contract drawings and establishing survey control
Carrying out regular checks to ensure accuracy and compliance
Producing site documentation including ITPs, task briefings, site diaries and allocation sheets
Supporting planning with short-term programmes and 2-week lookaheads
Resolving technical queries and site-based issues as they arise
Coordinating with procurement to ensure resources and materials are available
Promoting high standards of health, safety, environmental compliance and quality
Identifying opportunities for value engineering and continuous improvement
About you
To be considered for this role, you should have:
Essential:
Experience setting out on civil engineering or infrastructure projects
Good understanding of construction methods, health & safety and industry standards
Experience using total stations or similar surveying equipment
Degree or HNC (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering
Strong communication skills and a proactive, solutions-focused approachDesirable:
Experience within the water sector or utilities frameworks
AutoCAD and MS Office proficiency
Temporary works knowledge
CSCS card and relevant site certifications (e.g. First Aid, IOSH/NEBOSH)
