Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer
Location: South Leeds
Salary: £58,000 + Benefits
Shift Pattern: 4 On 4 Off (Days Only)

The Opportunity
An award-winning manufacturer is seeking a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join its engineering team at a highly automated production facility just south of Leeds.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an engineer looking to work on some of the site's most critical production equipment. You'll be responsible for maintaining and improving the machinery that controls production across the factory, working on advanced systems, complex components, and technically challenging equipment within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
The business has an excellent reputation for developing its engineers and offers genuine opportunities to progress into Engineering Leadership or Continuous Improvement (CI) positions. Alongside career progression, the company invests heavily in training and development, including electrical, automation, and advanced engineering courses.
Working a 4 on 4 off days-only shift pattern, you'll join a stable engineering team within a business that continues to invest in both its technology and its people.
Responsibilities
Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across production machinery
Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults
Respond quickly to breakdowns and minimise downtime
Support continuous improvement and reliability projects
Conduct root cause analysis to prevent recurring failures
Maintain production-critical equipment to maximise efficiency
Work closely with production teams to ensure optimal machine performance
Support engineering projects and equipment upgrades
Ensure all maintenance activities are completed in line with Health & Safety requirements
Skills & Experience
Previous experience working as a Maintenance Engineer within a manufacturing environment
Strong background maintaining automated or process machinery
Multi-Skilled Engineer preferred with both electrical and mechanical experience
Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving skills
Experience working on production machinery within a factory environment is essential
Positive attitude with a proactive, can-do approach
Engineering qualification such as NVQ Level 3, Apprenticeship, City & Guilds, HNC, or equivalent beneficialPlease note: Candidates whose experience is solely within automated warehouse environments will not be suitable for this role.
