The school supports children and young people with high-needs Autism (ASD) and a range of complex additional needs. Many pupils have significant communication differences, with some being non-verbal or using alternative methods of communication. Every day is different, making this an incredibly rewarding role for someone who enjoys building relationships and making a lasting impact.
The school is part of a large Multi-Academy Trust, meaning there may be opportunities and expectations to support other schools within the Trust when required, offering excellent experience and career development.
Your Responsibilities
Support pupils on a 1:1 and small group basis throughout the school day.
Assist children with high-needs Autism and complex communication needs.
Promote independence, confidence and emotional wellbeing.
Use Positive Behaviour Support strategies to help pupils regulate their emotions and engage with learning.
Support pupils with personal care where required, always maintaining dignity and respect.
Work closely with teachers, therapists and other professionals to provide the best possible outcomes.
Help create a safe, structured and nurturing learning environment.
Support other schools within the Trust where required.
Full Training and Support

Training may include:
Positive Behaviour Support (PBS)
Physical intervention and de-escalation techniques
Autism awareness
