Are you a well organised Machining Cell Leader or Manufacturing Team Leader able to lead production teams and provide exceptional results to clients?
We are recruiting for a hands-on Machining Cell Leader to oversee the day-to-day operations of a busy machining department within a precision manufacturing environment. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced leader with a strong machining background who is passionate about quality, continuous improvement and developing high performing teams.
Working closely with Production, Planning and Purchasing teams, you'll ensure production targets are achieved while maintaining high standards of quality, efficiency and safety.

Key Responsibilities
Lead and support the team and day-to-day operation of the department
Plan workloads and allocate resources to meet production schedules
Work closely with Planning and Production teams to ensure customer deadlines are achieved
Monitor production performance and identify opportunities for improvement
Ensure materials and components remain fully traceable throughout the manufacturing process
Support quality investigations, root cause analysis and corrective actions
Promote Lean Manufacturing, 5S and continuous improvement initiatives
Ensure health and safety documentation and production records are maintained accurately
Drive a positive, proactive and collaborative working environment
Skills, Experience & Training Requirements
Previous experience as a Machining Cell Leader, Machine Shop Supervisor or Manufacturing Team Leader
Experience managing or supervising a machining department
Proven leadership, coaching and people management skills
Good understanding of production planning and manufacturing processes
Experience working within Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement environments
Ability to work under pressure and manage changing priorities
HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering, apprenticeship or leadership qualification would be advantageous
Experience within a low volume, high precision manufacturing environment would be beneficial
