Production Planner / Scheduler salary: £35,000 – £48,200

Production Planner / Scheduler Overview:
Plan and schedule production across a busy engineering and manufacturing environment
Implement, maintain and improve MRP data to support better forecasting and planning
Work closely with Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Stock Control, Sales and Design teams
Monitor capacity, production performance and delays, then adjust plans where needed

This Production Planner / Scheduler role is with an established manufacturing business in Bournemouth, supporting the planning and scheduling of materials through a busy engineering department. Reporting to the Manufacturing Manager, the Production Planner / Scheduler will help improve MRP accuracy, build production schedules, manage capacity and support better visibility across demand, stock, customer orders and production output. This Production Planner / Scheduler position suits someone who has planned in an SME manufacturing environment and is confident using MRP data to make practical decisions.
Day-to-day responsibilities of a Production Planner / Scheduler
Build, maintain and adjust detailed production schedules based on demand, orders and capacity
Use MRP data to improve planning accuracy, forecasting and production visibility
Support the ongoing implementation and optimisation of the MRP system
Assess production capacity and recommend schedule changes where demand or workload shifts
Track daily production performance and identify delays before they become bigger issues
Create alternative production plans when materials, labour, capacity or priorities change
Work with Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Stock Control, Sales and Design to keep plans aligned
Analyse output, efficiency, stock and production data to identify trends and improvement areas
Support production and management meetings with accurate planning updates
Challenge decisions professionally where planning, capacity or delivery risks need attention
Help improve planning processes, efficiency and overall production flow
