Trainee Bid Manager
We're looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our growing Work Winning team as a Trainee Bid Manager. This is an excellent opportunity to build a long-term career with a leading Tier 1 M&E contractor.
You'll receive full training, mentoring and support while developing your skills in bid management and coordination. Working alongside experienced professionals, you'll help manage tender submissions across our Engineering division and gain valuable insight into how successful bids are developed and delivered.
This is a hybrid role, based between our London office (1 Angel Court, EC2R 7HJ) and home, with occasional travel required.
What you'll be doing
This varied role will provide a strong foundation in all aspects of bid management and coordination.
Support the preparation and submission of tenders, proposals and questionnaires.
Coordinate information from teams across the business to support bid submissions.
Monitor bid deadlines and ensure key milestones are met.
Review tender requirements and check all requested information is included.
Gather company information, project examples, H&S records and quality documentation for submissions.
Maintain bid resources, including project case studies, CVs and standard company information.
Monitor client communications, clarifications and updates throughout the tender process.
Proofread and format documents to ensure they are professional, accurate and compliant.
Attend bid meetings, record actions and help track progress.
Support the creation of presentation materials for client meetings and interviews.
Follow up with stakeholders to ensure information is received to agreed timescales.
Research clients, competitors and market trends to strengthen future submissions.
Participate in tender reviews to identify lessons learned and opportunities for improvement.
Ensure submissions comply with company processes and quality standards.
Develop an understanding of the construction and M&E sectors, including procurement and tendering practices.
Build effective working relationships with colleagues, clients and external partners.
Who we're looking for
As this is a trainee position, no previous bid management experience is required. We'll provide the training and support needed to help you build a successful career.
You may be:
A recent graduate, particularly in Business, Construction Management or a related discipline.
A school, college or sixth-form leaver looking to start a professional career.
Someone with experience in construction, engineering, administration, customer service, sales, marketing or project coordination.
Whatever your background, you'll be organised, motivated and enjoy working as part of a team to achieve success.
You'll need
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong attention to detail.
Good organisational and time-management skills.
The ability to prioritise tasks and work to deadlines.
A proactive approach and willingness to learn.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
The ability to work effectively under pressure.
