Deputy Nursery Manager
Job Summary
We are seeking a Deputy Nursery Manager to support supervise our nursery. The successful candidate will work alongside the nursery manager assisting managing amd supervising staff, ensuring high standards of childcare and early years education. Fostering a safe, nurturing environment for children.
This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a background in early childhood education and has previous supervisory experience .
Starting Salary: £36,000- £38,000pa + excellent further training, career progression opportunities, paid holidays.
Duties and responsiblities
* Assist the Nursery Manager in overseeing daily operations, ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards.
* Support staff management, including supervising team members, organising rotas, and facilitating professional development.
* Contribute to creating a stimulating, safe, and inclusive environment for children aged from birth to five years.
* Engage with children through play and educational activities, promoting their social, emotional, and cognitive development.
* Communicate effectively with parents and carers regarding children's progress and activities.
* Ensure health and safety policies are strictly followed and maintained across the nursery.
* Support the implementation of early childhood education programmes aligned with best practices.
* Assist in maintaining accurate records related to children's development, attendance, and staff schedules.
* Drive responsibilities may include transporting children safely to outings or activities as required.
Requirements
* Experience working within a nursery or early childhood education setting.
* Supervisory and leadership skills with previous supervisory experience preferred such as room leader or managerial experience.
* Knowledge of childcare regulations and health & safety standards.
* Ability to work effectively with children, staff, and parents in a professional manner.
* Childcare qualifications such as NVQ, CACHE Level 3 in Early Years or equivalent are desirable. Or BA in Early Years Education.
* A caring attitude combined with organisational skills and attention to detail.
