Scope
With a minimum of 5 years' post degree experience in the industry, as a Contractor's or Sub- Contractor's Project Quantity Surveyor you will offer a range of commercial services across a variety of Build sectors.
Experience of fast changing, large refurbishment Contracts within the hospitality sector would be an advantage.
As Project QS you will be responsible for all post tender aspects of a number of projects including preparing and agreeing final accounts, management of sub-contractors accounts and full financial management/control of each project including producing monthly cost/value reconciliations.
Developing a portfolio of clients you will be responsible for all the commercial aspects of Contracts.

Key Responsibilities
Manage the day-to-day quantity surveying tasks on contracts allocated to you including valuations, payment and production of internal financial reports. Note - Subcontract procurement will be undertaken by the Construction Managers.
Awareness and management of cost control measures.
Able to work with a range of contract types
Maximising profit / return, Accurate forecasting, Manage risk
Provide information to measure financial performance of projects
Produce information for preparation of subcontract enquiries
Prepare and submit change control requests
Prepare, Analyse and Negotiate costs for Tenders and Contracts
Produce and input all information relevant to the CVR
Measurement of builder's quantities, including formation of Bills of Quantities for a complete project and subsequent discussion with Clients.
Pricing Bills of Quantities for submission and subsequent discussion with Clients, preferable but not essential
Ensure the correct project records are maintained to substantiate claims and change notifications.
Issue contractual notices at the relevant time
Preparation of Valuations/Application for payment with full supporting documentation in accordance with the contract
Strong relationships built and maintained with clientsHealth, Safety and Environment

It is essential, that you can demonstrate a passion for Quantity Surveying and have an appreciation of construction processes.
The ability to interpret information from construction drawings, specifications and schedules
Strong Numeracy, good mathematical and accounting skills,
Good working knowledge of MS Excel/ Word and the ability to learn how to use specialist software.
Excellent relationship-building and interpersonal skills, the ability to work in a team or individually.
An understanding of measurement of quantities and production of Bills of Quantities, including and understanding of current methods of measurement and knowledge of SMM7
Methodical and meticulous work approach with good attention to detail.
Tenacity in closing out pieces of work to quality and timescales.
Experience of working with and to various contract types and commercial terms
Proven experience in a Quantity Surveying role
Effective communicator (written and verbal) and experience in negotiation.
Client facing and professional manner.
Conscientious and has a self-disciplined approach,
Have a good understanding of the most commonly used building technologies
BSc (hons) in Quantity Surveyor or equivalent qualification (desirable but not essential).
5 years' post degree experience in a Sub- contract or Project/Contractor QS role.
To have a full UK Driving Licence is essential, as travel and site visits will be necessary
