£55k - £65k Annual
Full-Time
If you are a Data Engineer ready to step up and are keen to learn or expand your knowledge of Snowflake, this could be the opportunity for you.
We are implementing Snowflake as our new cloud data platform and building a new Data Warehouse to support trusted reporting, analytics and business decision-making. We are looking for someone who wants to help shape, build, operate and improve that platform over time.
Although Snowflake experience would be advantageous, it is not essential.
Key here is 5 years+ experience as a Data Engineer and being able to evidence where and how you have previously built Data Warehouses end-to-end, whilst showing you are ready to step into that Senior role with more ownership and accountability.
This is going to suit someone who enjoys being “hands on” but has also had and enjoys having a holistic view of the overall design, build, administration, and maintenance of the platform. You will be joining a small, experienced team, so the role requires breadth as well as technical depth.
Note: We are less likely to be the right fit for someone whose experience has been limited to one narrow area of delivery, such as only building pipelines within a much larger programme. We need someone who can understand the bigger picture, make sensible engineering decisions, and take accountability for how the platform works in practice.
Experience you would bring includes:
Cloud data platforms such as Snowflake, BigQuery, GCP/ AWS or similar
Data Warehouse and data platform architecture
Dimensional data modelling
RBAC, governance and data masking
Monitoring, data quality and operational support
Advanced SQL and Python
dbt or similar transformation frameworks
Along with the technical, you will also be able to showcase a clear and succinct communication style, which enables you to interpret needs, feedback, and build excellent working relationships with senior stakeholders, constantly ensuring our Data Warehouse aligns with business objectives.
Perhaps you still enjoy the satisfaction of hands-on engineering but are now looking for that next challenge which gives you more ownership and the big picture view?. If so, apply now.
