Planner - Highways Maintenance (Slough)
Join our team delivering vital highways maintenance projects across Slough. We're looking for an experienced Planner to take ownership of programme management, ensuring projects are delivered efficiently, safely, and on schedule.
Working closely with Project Managers and delivery teams, you'll develop and maintain robust construction programmes, analyse critical paths, manage change under NEC contracts, and identify opportunities to improve delivery performance. Your expertise will help shape project strategy, challenge assumptions, and drive successful outcomes.
What You'll Be Doing
Developing and managing project programmes from design through to handover.
Monitoring progress, analysing critical paths, and reporting performance.
Supporting project teams with short-term planning and recovery strategies.
Assessing programme impacts of change and compensation events.
Integrating subcontractor programmes into the overall project plan.
Producing reports, forecasts, "what-if" scenarios, and performance analysis.
Building strong relationships with clients, suppliers, subcontractors, and local authorities.
What We're Looking For
Experience within highways, civil engineering, or construction projects.
Strong planning expertise using Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project.
Good understanding of NEC3/NEC4 contracts and change management.
Excellent communication, reporting, and stakeholder management skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Ideally 5+ years' experience in a dedicated planning role.
Relevant construction/civil engineering qualifications and CSCS card (desirable)
