We are seeking an experienced Solutions (Infrastructure) Architect to support a large-scale project within a highly regulated environment. This role will provide architecture leadership across cloud platforms, infrastructure services, security, and platform engineering, ensuring solutions are secure, scalable, resilient, and aligned to best practice.

You would bring strong infrastructure and cloud architecture experience, working closely with engineering teams, suppliers, and senior stakeholders to shape, govern, and deliver strategic technical solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead solution architecture and ensure Secure by Design principles are Embedded throughout delivery.
• Define and govern infrastructure, platform, and cloud architecture across the programme.
• Provide technical leadership to engineering teams, suppliers, and delivery partners.
• Review and assure infrastructure and platform designs to ensure scalability, resilience, and security.
• Support strategic roadmaps, technology decisions, prioritisation, and long-term planning.
• Engage stakeholders at all levels, translating complex technical concepts into clear business outcomes.
• Ensure solutions meet security, compliance, and operational requirements within a regulated environment.
• Drive architecture governance and technical assurance across multiple workstreams.
• Support the adoption of modern cloud-native, platform engineering, and infrastructure automation practices.

Essential Experience & Skills:

• 8+ years' experience in Solution Architecture, Infrastructure Architecture, or Cloud Architecture roles.
• Strong expertise in AWS and Kubernetes.
• Experience designing and governing distributed, containerised platforms.
• Strong understanding of networking, security architecture, TLS/mTLS, and infrastructure best practices.
• Experience delivering solutions within Government, Public Sector, Financial Services, or similarly regulated environments.
• Hands-on engineering background with the ability to engage credibly with technical teams.
• Experience defining secure, scalable, and resilient cloud architectures.
• Strong ownership, accountability, and decision-making capability.
• Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills.
• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Experience working across multidisciplinary teams in complex delivery environments.

Contract Details:

Location: London (ad-hoc)

Contract: Initial contract until 31 March 2027

Rate: £675 per day (Outside IR35)

Start Date: ASAP - handover period included until mid-August
