Contract: Full-Time, Monday-Friday (Term Time Only)
Pay: £100-£120 per day, depending on experience and qualifications.
Are you a passionate Sports Coach, Sports Tutor or Behaviour Mentor looking to make a genuine difference?
PK Education is recruiting for a dedicated Sports Tutor to join a specialist KS3 Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in the Rotherham area from September. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who can use sport as a positive tool to engage young people who have become disengaged from mainstream education.
Working with small groups of students, you'll help build confidence, resilience and positive relationships while supporting learning and behaviour in a structured environment.
The Role
Deliver engaging sports and physical activity sessions to KS3 students.
Build positive, professional relationships with pupils displaying challenging behaviour.
Support students with emotional regulation, resilience and social development.
Work alongside teachers and pastoral staff to encourage positive behaviour and engagement.
Act as a positive role model, maintaining high expectations and consistency.
Help create a safe, structured and supportive learning environment.
The Ideal Candidate
Experience working with young people in education, coaching, youth work or alternative provision.
Confident managing challenging behaviour in a calm and professional manner.
Passionate about improving outcomes for vulnerable young people.
Resilient, patient and able to build strong relationships.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
A recognised Sports Coaching qualification or relevant experience is desirable.
Essential Requirements
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
Right to work in the UK.
Ability to provide two years of employment or education references.
A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
