Planner Required – Peterborough | Immediate Start

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Planner to join a leading construction contractor on a major project based in Peterborough. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled Planner looking for an immediate start, offering a competitive day rate of £350–£400, depending on experience.

Working closely with Estimating, Delivery and Commercial teams, you will play a key role in developing, maintaining and monitoring project programmes from tender through to completion, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with contractual requirements.

Key Responsibilities

* Develop and maintain detailed project programmes for tender, pre-construction and live projects.

* Support estimating and delivery teams to ensure planning standards and procedures are consistently applied.

* Produce robust construction programmes using Primavera P6/Primavera Cloud and MS Project.

* Establish effective construction methodologies, sequencing and programme logic.

* Monitor programme performance, critical paths and key milestones, identifying risks and implementing mitigation strategies.

* Lead and support collaborative planning sessions with project teams.

* Produce programme updates, progress reports and planning information in line with reporting requirements.

* Develop programme animations and visual planning tools to support project delivery.

* Support the review and assessment of tender programmes.

* Assist with demonstrating the impact of change, delays and variations in accordance with NEC and other contract requirements.

* Work closely with Operations and Commercial teams to identify programme risks, manage float and protect contractual completion dates.

* Promote and maintain high standards of Health & Safety throughout the planning process.

Requirements

To be considered, you will have:

* CSCS Card.

* Experience in a planning role within the UK construction industry.

* Strong understanding of construction methodologies, sequencing and project delivery.

* Good knowledge of NEC contracts and other standard forms of construction contract.

* Experience facilitating collaborative planning workshops.

* Proficiency in Primavera P6/Primavera Cloud.

* Competence using Microsoft Project.

* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

* The ability to present complex programme information clearly to a range of audiences.

* A proactive, collaborative approach with a commitment to continuous improvement.

Desirable

* Degree (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline.
