Site Engineer - Highways Drainage Works
Location: Manchester / North West (National Highways schemes)
Rate: £(Apply online only) per shift (DOE)
Duration: Minimum 6-month contract
Are you an experienced Site Engineer with a highways and drainage background? We are currently recruiting for a Site Engineer to support major motorway improvement works across the North West, covering key routes across the National Highways network.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Site Engineer to join a long-term infrastructure project, working as part of a delivery team responsible for highways drainage activities and ensuring works are completed safely, accurately and to specification.
The Role
As Site Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting the delivery of drainage works on live highways projects, working closely with the site team, subcontractors and client representatives.
Your responsibilities will include:
·Carrying out CAT scanning and service investigations prior to excavation works
·Issuing permits and ensuring compliance with site procedures
·Setting out and marking excavation areas accurately
·Working alongside CCTV drainage teams to support investigation and repair works
·Raising RFIs and managing technical queries through to resolution
·Maintaining accurate progress diaries, site records and quality documentation
·Producing as-built records and supporting project handover requirements
·Ensuring works are delivered safely and in line with project specifications
About You
The successful candidate will have:
·Previous experience working as a Site Engineer on highways, civils or infrastructure projects
·Strong drainage and utilities experience
·Experience working on live motorway or highways schemes
·Good knowledge of setting out, site records and quality assurance processes
·Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with site teams and stakeholders
·A proactive approach with good attention to detail
Requirements
·Experience using surveying equipment and producing accurate site information
·Knowledge of highways drainage works
·Ability to work night shifts
·Relevant civil engineering qualifications or experience
Contract Details
·£400 per day (night shift rate)
·Potential opportunity for day works also available
·Minimum 6-month contract
·Start date: Within the next 1-2 weeks
·Locations: Manchester / Liverpool preferred
