HGV Technician
Location: Beeston
Salary: £26.40 per hour
Overtime: Paid at Enhanced Rate
Shift Pattern: 4 on 4 off
Working Hours: 6pm-6am

We are working with a leading Commercial vehicle management company who are looking for an experienced HGV Technician to join their busy workshop team. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled technician to work on a varied fleet of HGVs, vans, and trailers, carrying out servicing, maintenance, inspections, diagnostics, and repairs to the highest standards.

The successful candidate will be a qualified HGV Technician with strong diagnostic skills, a proactive approach, and a commitment to delivering safe, efficient, and high-quality workmanship in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities of the HGV Technician

• Carry out servicing, maintenance, and repairs on a mixed fleet of HGVs, vans, and trailers.
• Perform routine vehicle inspections and preventative maintenance.
• Complete MOT preparation and present vehicles for MOT testing.
• Diagnose faults and carry out effective repairs.
• Accurately complete job cards, service sheets, and all required documentation using online systems.
• Ensure all work is completed safely and in line with health and safety procedures.
• Maintain high standards of quality, housekeeping, and compliance within the workshop.

Requirements for the successful HGV Technician

• NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair.
• Minimum of two years' post-qualification experience as an HGV Technician preferred.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• HGV Class 1 licence is advantageous but not essential.
• Good communication and organisational skills.
• Basic IT skills for completing digital job documentation.
• Ability to work efficiently in a busy workshop environment.
• Good understanding of health and safety within the commercial vehicle industry.
