Your new school

A welcoming and inclusive junior school in the Sheldon area is seeking a full-time 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a child in Year 3 from September. This is an excellent opportunity to make a genuine difference in a child's educational journey while working within a supportive and experienced school team.The school has a strong reputation for creating a nurturing environment where every child is valued and encouraged to reach their full potential. Staff work closely together to provide high-quality support, and inclusion is at the heart of everything they do.

Your new role

Supporting a child in Year 3 who is autistic and requires a consistent, nurturing approach.
Pre-verbal/minimally verbal and uses visual communication strategies.
Is currently in pull-ups and requires support with toileting.
Will use a potty rather than a toilet and is not yet able to manage toileting independently.
Requires close supervision throughout the day
Benefits from sensory regulation strategies and structured routines.What you'll need to succeed

Level 2 or Level 3 qualification or equivalent.
Experience supporting children with autism.
Knowledge of sensory processing needs and sensory regulation strategies.
Experience supporting pre-verbal or minimally verbal children.
Experience with toileting support.
The ability to work closely with the class teacher, SENCo and wider school team.What you'll get in return
