Key Responsibilities
Carry out servicing, maintenance, and repairs on HGVs, LGVs, trailers, and commercial vehicles
Complete vehicle inspections, defect repairs, and preventative maintenance tasks
Prepare HGVs for MOT testing and ensure compliance with DVSA standards
Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and technical faults using diagnostic equipment such as Texa and Jaltest
Perform fault finding and repairs to a consistently high standard
Maintain accurate job cards, service records, and workshop documentation
Work across a wide range of heavy vehicle and trailer systems
Ensure a safe, clean, and professional workshop environment at all times
Skills and Experience
Essential
Proven experience as an HGV Technician, HGV Mechanic, Truck Mechanic, Commercial Vehicle Technician, or Heavy Vehicle Technician
Strong knowledge of HGV and trailer systems, maintenance, and repairs
Experience with diagnostics and fault finding
Ability to deliver servicing and repairs to a high standard
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
Desirable
City & Guilds, NVQ Level 3, IMI or equivalent Heavy Vehicle qualification
Class 2 / Category C driving licence
Experience using Texa, Jaltest, or similar diagnostic tools
HGV MOT preparation experience
Experience with trailer, PSV, agricultural, or plant maintenance
