Quality Manager / NICEIC Qualified Supervisor (Electrical)
Location: Near Tunbridge Wells (Projects across London & Home Counties)
Working Pattern: Office-based with site travel (3 days office / 2 days on-site)

About the Role
An established electrical contractor with over 40 years of experience is seeking an experienced Quality Manager / NICEIC Qualified Supervisor to oversee the quality, compliance and technical excellence of commercial electrical installations.
This is a key position supporting the successful delivery of commercial Design & Build projects valued between £100k and £1.5m, with up to 15 live projects running simultaneously. The successful candidate will work closely with the Contracts Directors, Project Managers and Senior Leadership Team, ensuring all installations are compliant, safe and delivered to the highest industry standards.
The role is split between office and site, with approximately three days per week based in the office and two days visiting projects across London and the Home Counties.
Key Responsibilities
Quality & Compliance
Act as the company's NICEIC Qualified Supervisor, ensuring compliance across all electrical installations.
Carry out regular quality inspections on active commercial projects throughout the construction programme.
Review temporary electrical installations and associated certification.
Assess existing electrical installations to determine suitability for alteration, additions and removals.
Conduct detailed inspections following second fix to ensure compliance with BS7671 and project specifications.
Review electrical certification, ensuring accuracy of cable types, protective devices, equipment schedules and installation details.
Inspect distribution boards, containment, field terminations and carry out spot checks on installed equipment.
Produce comprehensive written inspection reports identifying any non-compliance with:
BS7671
BS5266
BS5839
Reference relevant regulations within all reports and issue findings to the Contracts Director, Project Manager and Site Electrical Supervisor.
Provide technical guidance to project teams to ensure corrective actions are completed efficiently.
Site Quality Assurance
Attend projects throughout the delivery programme as required.
Review site health & safety arrangements relating to electrical works.
Verify operatives hold the appropriate competencies and qualifications including:
ECS
IPAF
PASMA
Other relevant accreditation
Assess working practices to ensure compliance with current legislation and company standards.
Liaise with client representatives and site managers, proactively resolving quality or installation concerns.
Technical Support
Provide technical advice to Project Managers, Site Supervisors and Contracts Directors.
Assist with electrical design queries and installation compliance.
Produce electrical designs using Amtech software and manual calculations where required.
Support lighting design and electrical system design for commercial fit-out projects.
Assist with client complaints, technical investigations and compliance queries.
Keep up to date with current regulations and industry best practice.
About You
You will be an experienced electrical professional with strong technical knowledge and a proactive approach to quality management. You will enjoy working closely with operational teams while maintaining high standards of compliance across multiple projects.
You will have:
Minimum 3 years' experience as an NICEIC Qualified Supervisor.
Strong knowledge of BS7671 and commercial electrical installations.
Experience delivering Design & Build commercial office fit-out projects.
Electrical design experience including lighting design.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical matters to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple live projects simultaneously.
A collaborative approach with a focus on continuous improvement.
Previous experience as an Electrical Project Manager or Quantity Surveyor with strong technical knowledge would also be highly advantageous.
