We are seeking skilled and experienced Sheet Metal Workers to join a major defence shipbuilding programme in Glasgow. This is an excellent opportunity to work on a long-term naval engineering project, manufacturing and installing sheet metal components to the highest standards of quality and safety.

What you'll be doing:

Manufacturing and installing ventilation systems and furniture onboard vessels.
Working to engineering standards while delivering quality-first workmanship.
Using a variety of hand tools and specialist sheet metal equipment.
Carrying out fabrication, assembly and installation of sheet metal components.
Reading and interpreting manufacturing and installation drawings.
Working collaboratively with other trades to ensure projects are completed safely and efficiently.
Maintaining a clean and safe working environment while following all Health, Safety and Environmental procedures.

Your skills and experience:

Essential:

Modern Apprenticeship certificate/Trade Papers (must be provided with your application).
Relevant qualifications such as SVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
Experience within a major construction, manufacturing, marine or heavy engineering environment.
Ability to read and interpret engineering and fabrication drawings.
Good understanding of SHE principles, COSHH and manufacturing processes.
Comfortable working in confined spaces and at height.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.Requirements: Trade Papers must be provided when submitting your application.

Desirable:

Previous marine or shipbuilding experience.
Experience manufacturing and installing ventilation systems.
Current safety certifications such as Working at Height, COSHH Awareness or SHE Induction.
Experience working within the defence or heavy engineering sectors.Please ensure you attach copies of your Trade Papers and relevant qualifications when submitting your application.

Overtime Pay:

Monday - Thursday: Time and a Third (1.33x)
Friday: Time and a Half for the first 4 hours, Double Time thereafter.
Saturday: Time and a Half.
Sunday: Double Time.

Shift Patterns:

Day Shift (Flat Rate)

Monday - Thursday
07:00 - 16:30Night Shift (+33% Shift Allowance)

Monday - Thursday
20:30 - 06:00Weekend Shift (+33% Shift Allowance)

Friday - Sunday
