Freelance Site Manager – Healthcare Construction Project
Location: Gloucester
Contract: Freelance
Start Date: ASAP
ITS Construction Professionals are currently recruiting for an experienced Freelance Site Manager to join a major healthcare construction project in Gloucester.
This is an excellent opportunity to work with a respected main contractor delivering a high-value project within a live healthcare environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing site operations, ensuring the project is delivered safely, on programme, within budget and to the highest quality standards.
The Role
Reporting to the Project Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the site, coordinating subcontractors, maintaining programme, and ensuring all works are carried out in line with health & safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage the day-to-day running of the site.
* Coordinate and supervise subcontractors and direct labour.
* Ensure works are delivered safely and in accordance with company procedures.
* Maintain high standards of quality across all aspects of the project.
* Monitor progress against programme and proactively resolve any site issues.
* Conduct site inductions, toolbox talks and daily briefings.
* Carry out regular health & safety inspections and ensure compliance with all legislation.
* Liaise with the Project Manager, client representatives, consultants and subcontractors.
* Ensure materials, plant and labour are effectively coordinated.
* Complete site paperwork, RAMS reviews, permits and daily records.
* Drive programme while maintaining excellent standards of workmanship.
* Promote a positive safety culture and lead by example on site.
Requirements
* Previous experience working as a Site Manager for a main contractor.
* Experience delivering healthcare, commercial, education or other complex construction projects.
* Strong organisational and communication skills.
* Ability to manage multiple subcontractors and maintain programme.
* Confident working in a live operational environment.
* Excellent knowledge of current health & safety legislation and site procedures.

* CSCS Card
* First Aid at Work
