We're looking for skilled and motivated HGV Technicians to join our Sheffield-based workshop on a permanent basis. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established business that invests in its people, offers ongoing training and development, and provides excellent earning potential of up to £56,827.24 per annum.
You will play a key role in ensuring the safety, reliability and compliance of a modern fleet of commercial vehicles, carrying out servicing, maintenance, diagnostics and repairs to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out routine maintenance, servicing and repairs on HGVs and trailers.
* Diagnose mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults using manufacturer diagnostic equipment.
* Interpret instructions from job cards and repair orders, completing all work accurately and efficiently.
* Conduct vehicle inspections, defect reporting and MOT preparation.
* Accurately record work completed, tests carried out and parts used.
* Immediately report any additional work required or vehicle faults identified.
* Maintain allocated work areas in a clean, safe and tidy condition.
* Attend training courses and stay up to date with the latest vehicle technologies and manufacturer updates.
* Ensure all work is completed in accordance with company policies and health and safety standards.
* Enhance the reputation of the business through professional workmanship and customer service.
About You
To be considered for this role, you will ideally have:
* NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds or equivalent qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair.
* Previous experience as an HGV Technician, HGV Mechanic, LGV Technician or Commercial Vehicle Technician.
* Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
* Knowledge of modern vehicle systems and repair techniques.
* A Class 1 or Class 2 licence would be advantageous but is not essential.
