Test Technician
Salary: £30,000 - £40,000 per annum (DOE)
Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time
We are recruiting for an experienced Test Technician to join a well-established engineering and manufacturing business. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on Test Technician with a strong electronics background to work on technically advanced products within a specialist manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities for the Test Technician
Test electronic assemblies and finished products in line with test specifications.
Complete detailed test documentation and reports.
Diagnose and fault-find to component level on PCB assemblies and electronic systems.
Identify root causes of failures and record non-conformances.
Ensure testing is completed to production schedules and quality standards.
Support the maintenance and calibration of test equipment.
Read and interpret circuit diagrams, schematics and technical documentation.
Maintain high standards of health & safety and housekeeping within the test area.
Support continuous improvement initiatives across the production process.The Test Technician will need to meet the following key requirements
Previous experience as a Test Technician or in a similar electronics manufacturing environment.
Strong fault-finding skills to component level.
Experience working with analogue and digital electronics.
Knowledge of high voltage, power electronics or switch mode power supplies (SMPS).
Ability to read and understand circuit diagrams, wiring diagrams and schematics.
Experience using electronic test equipment such as oscilloscopes, digital multimeters and power supplies.
Good PC skills, including Microsoft Office.
Excellent attention to detail with a methodical approach to testing.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
Experience working in a low-volume, high-complexity manufacturing environment is advantageous.
HNC/HND or equivalent engineering qualification would be beneficial but is not essential.If you are an experienced Test Technician looking to join a growing engineering business where quality and technical expertise are highly valued, we'd like to hear from you
