About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Design Manager to join our London team, delivering high-quality commercial workplace fit out projects across the capital. This role will focus on managing the design process from early-stage cut and carve refurbishments through to the delivery of premium CAT A and CAT B office fit outs.
Working closely with clients, consultants, architects and project delivery teams, you will ensure designs are coordinated, buildable and delivered to programme while maintaining the highest standards of quality.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage the design process from pre-construction through to project completion.
Coordinate multidisciplinary design teams, consultants and subcontractors.
Manage design information, RFIs, technical queries and design changes.
Ensure designs are compliant with statutory regulations, planning requirements and building standards.
Review design proposals for buildability, programme, quality and commercial viability.
Work collaboratively with project managers, commercial teams and site teams to achieve successful project delivery.
Chair design workshops and coordination meetings with internal and external stakeholders.
Monitor design progress against programme and proactively manage design risks.
Support client presentations and maintain strong client relationships throughout the project lifecycle.
About You
You will have proven experience delivering commercial workplace projects and be confident managing multiple stakeholders within a fast-paced construction environment.
Essential Experience
Demonstrable experience as a Design Manager within the construction industry.
Strong background delivering cut and carve refurbishment projects.
Extensive experience on CAT A and CAT B commercial office fit out schemes.
Excellent understanding of design management processes from pre-construction to handover.
Experience coordinating architects, MEP consultants and specialist subcontractors.
Strong knowledge of UK Building Regulations and commercial construction practices.
Excellent communication, organisation and stakeholder management skills
