Assembly Operative
Directly Responsible to: Production Manager
The role
Produce finished roof lights to company schedules and drawings, while maintaining excellent housekeeping and following the company’s ISO (Apply online only) quality policy.
Responsibilities
* To operate machinery
* To assemble all variants of the Glazing Vision product range
Skills required
* Must be able to use hand tools
* Excellent time management skills
* Be able to work on own initiative
* Able to work in a target driven environment
Overall Role or Purpose of the job:
* Operate production machinery to create parts and sub-assemblies for final assembly into roof lights (training provided)
* Ensure work area is tidy and organised
* Store products and components in such way as not to lead to damage, defects or a safety hazard
* Carry out any reasonable request given by Line Supervisor
Essential:
* Good verbal and written English
* Good understanding of Health & Safety procedures/practice
Desirable
* Forklift licence (training provided if not and if required)
* Abrasive wheels
Hours of Work: Full-time- 5 days a week, Monday to Friday, 7.5 hours a day from 07:30 am to 3:30pm
Pay: From minimum wage, dependent on skills & qualifications
Employee benefits
* After a successful probation period, you will be included in our auto enrol pension scheme in which the Company pays 4%
* 20 days holiday with an extra day for every full year worked along with eight paid bank holidays
