Astute's Power team is partnering with a leading power company in the UK to recruit a Project Development Manager for its Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) site in either North London or Kent.

The Project Development Manager comes with a salary up to £85,000 + private medical + benefits package.

Responsibilities and duties of the Project Development Manager role

Reporting to the Strategic Maintenance Manager you will:

Lead major capital projects focused on asset improvement, business growth, innovation and decarbonisation.
Manage project development activities, including feasibility studies, FEED studies and business case preparation.
Act as the business lead for decarbonisation projects such as carbon capture, hydrogen, renewables and low-carbon energy solutions.
Identify and develop new opportunities linked to energy infrastructure, grid resilience, flexibility services and data centres.
Build strong relationships with government bodies, regulators, industry partners and other key stakeholders.
Support procurement activities, tender processes and commercial negotiations throughout project development.
Work closely with engineering, operations, finance and commercial teams to ensure projects are successfully delivered and embedded into the business.
Monitor project performance, budgets, risks and timelines to ensure objectives are achieved.
Support long-term asset strategy by developing solutions that improve performance and support net-zero goals.
Represent the business in industry forums and collaborative projects to build partnerships and identify future opportunities.

Professional qualifications

We are looking for someone with the following:

Degree qualified in Engineering, Business, Finance, Project Management or a related discipline.
Experience managing complex projects within the energy, utilities, industrial or infrastructure sectors.
Strong project management skills, ideally supported by a recognised qualification such as APM, APMP, PRINCE2 or equivalent.
Proven experience building relationships and managing stakeholders across internal teams, external partners, regulators or government bodies.
Good commercial and technical understanding, with experience developing business cases, managing contracts and assessing project risks and opportunities.

Personal Skills

The Project Development Manager role would suit someone who is:

A confident relationship builder and networker who can influence stakeholders at all levels and establish credibility quickly.
Commercially minded and naturally curious, with the ability to identify opportunities, challenge conventional thinking and drive innovation.
Resilient and self-motivated, able to operate effectively in complex environments while maintaining focus under pressure.
