Senior Civil Design Engineer
Harrogate

An established and growing Civil & Structural Engineering Consultancy is looking to appoint a Senior Civil Design Engineer to join its experienced infrastructure team in Harrogate. With a strong reputation built over almost two decades and a healthy pipeline of residential, commercial and mixed-use developments, this is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in the continued growth of a respected consultancy delivering projects across the UK. The business prides itself on its collaborative culture, technical excellence and commitment to developing its people, offering a supportive environment where your ideas and expertise will genuinely make an impact.

Working as part of a close-knit team, you will take the lead on the design and delivery of a wide variety of development infrastructure projects from concept through to construction. You'll be responsible for coordinating technical design packages, liaising directly with clients, architects, contractors, local authorities and statutory bodies, whilst helping to shape engineering solutions that are both technically robust and commercially practical. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Engineer looking to take ownership of projects while mentoring junior Engineers and contributing to the ongoing growth of the business.

The role will see you leading the design of highways, drainage, earthworks, hardstanding areas and external works, producing detailed infrastructure designs using Civil 3D and undertaking drainage modelling using MicroDrainage, InfoDrainage or Causeway Flow. You'll prepare drainage strategies, SuDS designs, flood risk solutions and adoptable infrastructure designs, including S38, S104 and S278 agreements, ensuring projects are delivered to the highest technical standards and within programme.

Applicants should hold a degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline and have previous Consultancy experience delivering infrastructure design for development-led projects. A strong working knowledge of Civil 3D is essential, alongside experience using MicroDrainage, InfoDrainage or Causeway Flow. Experience designing highways and drainage for residential and commercial developments, together with an understanding of flood risk, surface water management and adoptable infrastructure, is highly desirable. Chartered Engineers, or those actively progressing towards Chartership with the ICE, are encouraged to apply.

In return, you'll be joining a forward-thinking Consultancy that genuinely invests in its people. Alongside a competitive salary and benefits package, you'll benefit from a varied project portfolio, structured career progression, ongoing professional development and the opportunity to play a significant role within a business that continues to grow through repeat business and long-term client relationships.
