Job Title: Workshop Engineer
Location: Wimblington
Salary: Competitive
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Working Pattern: Monday to Friday + every other Saturday
Purpose of the role:
The Workshop Engineer is responsible for the effective maintenance of the Knowles Logistics fleet. You will also be responsible for the daily re-active and pro-active maintenance of the Fleet taking direction from the Fleet Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
Fleet Maintenance:
Repair and maintain different types of vehicles, such as lorries, and vans. Perform restorative and preventative work all aspect of the vehicles, test new vehicles to find faults and carry out routine servicing.
Performing the following tasks:
Inspect vehicles to MOT standard
Diagnose faults and rectify all types of faults
Service and repair customer vehicles or components using appropriate equipment and tools in a safe and economical manner
Maintain current product knowledge and attend training courses as required
Ensure all vehicles worked upon are handled carefully and that all precautions are taken whilst on the premises
Carry out roadside assistance
Complete all paperwork as necessary
Ensure all aspects of H&S working practices are adhered to
Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and tidinessTeamwork:
Daily interaction with the Fleet mechanical team to ensure efficient and effective workload management.Communication:
Daily communication of the planned maintenance with the fleet manager and constant communication of the re-active maintenance with the transport and traffic teams to ensure smooth running of the Knowles Logistics fleet.The above list of accountabilities is not exclusive or exhaustive and is not intended as a list of individual tasks. The role holder will be required to undertake such tasks as may reasonably be expected commensurate with the scope and grading of the role.
About you:
Must haves:
Minimum of 2 year experience or qualification in motor mechanics such as City & Guilds Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or a BTEC National Certificate in Vehicle Repair and Technology
Having excellent knowledge about motor technology and a strong interest in heavy & light vehicles
Having good communication skills, work well in a team and autonomously with the ability to follow instruction
Ability to work under pressure with good concentration and focus
Having good manual dexterity
Being methodical and organised and able to work to strict deadlines
Advising customers about technical issues
Understand the regulations relevant to the tasks required in the workshop and transport industry
Must have own transport and full UK driving licenceAdditional Information:
The company is not able to offer visa therefore candidates must have the right to live and work in the UK in order to be considered.
