Senior Planner

Location: Midlands
Salary: Up to £80,000 + Excellent Package

Are you an experienced Senior Planner looking to work on major infrastructure and engineering projects?

We're recruiting for an exciting opportunity to join a leading engineering and infrastructure contractor, delivering high-profile projects across the Midlands and North. This role is ideal for someone with a background in MEICA, M&E, utilities, civils or infrastructure who is looking to take the next step in their career.

The Role

As a Senior Planner, you'll play a key role in the successful planning and delivery of complex engineering projects, ensuring programmes are robust, achievable and aligned with project objectives from tender through to completion.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and maintain detailed cost and resource-loaded programmes using Primavera P6.
Monitor project progress and provide regular programme updates to internal teams and clients.
Carry out programme reviews, delay analysis and impact assessments.
Prepare Extension of Time (EOT) programmes and support commercial submissions.
Produce look-ahead programmes, progress reports and project dashboards.
Undertake regular site visits to monitor progress and validate programme performance.
Generate Earned Value Analysis (EVA) reports, monitoring Schedule Performance Index (SPI) and Cost Performance Index (CPI).
Support tender submissions by preparing tender programmes and planning documentation.
Work closely with commercial, engineering and project delivery teams to manage project risks and opportunities.
Ensure planning standards, programme logic and document control are maintained throughout the project lifecycle.

About You

You'll be an experienced Planner or Senior Planner with a strong understanding of project controls and programme management within engineering or infrastructure environments.

Essential

Experience as a Planner or Senior Planner within construction, utilities, infrastructure, civils, MEICA or M&E projects.
Strong Primavera P6 experience.
Proven ability to develop and manage cost and resource-loaded programmes.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Understanding of project controls and planning best practice.
NVQ, HNC or equivalent qualification.

Desirable

Experience working under NEC, JCT or ICE contracts.
Mechanical, Electrical or Civil Engineering background.
Experience preparing delay analysis and Extension of Time (EOT) submissions.
