A leading national engineering consultancy is seeking an Associate Structural Engineer to join its successful Southwark office. This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced Structural Engineer who is looking to take on a senior leadership role within a collaborative and forward-thinking business, renowned for delivering high-profile engineering projects across the UK.
As an Associate, you'll play a key role within an established structural engineering team, leading the delivery of complex projects across sectors including residential, commercial, healthcare, education and mixed-use developments. You'll oversee project delivery, mentor and develop junior engineers, strengthen existing client relationships and help identify new business opportunities, while remaining actively involved in the technical direction of projects. This role offers genuine influence over both project outcomes and the continued growth of the team.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of eight years' post-graduate experience within the UK consultancy sector and be capable of independently leading projects from inception to completion. You'll combine strong technical expertise with commercial awareness, leadership skills and the ability to build lasting client relationships.

What You Need To Succeed
Minimum eight years' post-graduate structural engineering experience.
Strong UK consultancy experience is essential.
Demonstrable experience managing and delivering your own structural engineering projects.
Excellent technical design skills across steel, reinforced concrete, timber and masonry structures.
Experience leading multidisciplinary design teams and mentoring junior engineers.
Strong client-facing skills with the ability to build and maintain professional relationships.
Commercial awareness with experience contributing to project planning, resource management and fee delivery.
Chartered Engineer status with the IStructE/ICE, or close to achieving it.
A strong academic background with a BEng or MEng in Civil or Structural Engineering
