Major Recruitment are currently recruiting for a UK and Export Transport Administrator on a temporary to permanent basis, you will be joining our clients busy team and the largest precision tube manufacturing company in the UK
This is for an immediate start, the role will be office based in Dudley and you will be supporting the efficient planning and coordination of UK and export transport operations, ensuring goods are dispatched safely, on time, and in the most cost-effective manner. The role works closely with internal departments, transport providers and customers to maintain high service standards and ensure compliance with company procedures and relevant transport regulations.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Assist in planning and coordinating UK and export transport activities.
* Arrange external haulage and transport providers to meet daily operational
requirements.
* Coordinate trailer availability and ensure trailers are prepared for scheduled
loading.
* Support the preparation, checking and clearance of export documentation to
ensure compliance with customs and international shipping requirements.
* Liaise with warehouse, production and other internal departments to ensure
transport requirements are met.
* Monitor transport schedules and communicate any delays or issues to relevant
stakeholders.
* Ensure transport activities comply with company policies, health and safety
requirements, and applicable transport legislation.
* Support the Transport Manager with day-to-day administrative tasks and reporting.
* Provide holiday and sickness cover within the Transport department as required.
* Build and maintain effective working relationships with transport providers, drivers
and internal colleagues.
* Assist with continuous improvement initiatives to enhance transport efficiency and
service levels
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
* Minimum of 2 years' experience within a transport, logistics or supply chain
environment.
* Knowledge of UK transport operations and export processes.
* Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook.
* Experience using SAP or other ERP systems
WORKING HOURS & PAY RATE:
Location - Dudley
Monday to Friday 8.30am to 4.30pm OR 9am to 5pm
Pay rate - £13 per hour (neg. DOE)
