About the RoleWe are seeking a highly motivated FMCG Field Service Engineer to join a growing engineering team. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced engineer with a strong background in food manufacturing machinery, automated weighing systems, packaging equipment, and food processing machinery.
The successful candidate will be responsible for servicing, maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing customer machinery across the UK. You will play a key role in ensuring equipment performs efficiently and safely while building strong relationships with customers through excellent technical support and communication.
This role requires a proactive problem-solver who can work independently, manage multiple priorities, and deliver high-quality service in fast-paced environments.
Key Responsibilities
Communicate directly with customers to understand operational requirements and explain technical issues clearly.
Conduct site surveys and research to support installations and service requirements.
Diagnose machinery faults and identify effective repair solutions.
Troubleshoot and resolve technical challenges under pressure.
Install, commission, and integrate machinery and production lines at customer sites.
Inspect, test, and ensure machinery complies with safety standards.
Carry out planned preventative maintenance on machinery and equipment.
Service and repair machinery to minimise downtime.
Complete accurate service reports and documentation.
Order and manage replacement parts as required.
Work collaboratively with colleagues and customers to deliver exceptional service.RequirementsEssential
NVQ Level 3 qualification (or equivalent) in Engineering.
Experience servicing, maintaining, and repairing industrial machinery.
Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical engineering principles.
Clear knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices.
Excellent fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
Strong communication and customer service skills.
High level of attention to detail.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Full UK driving licence.
Willingness to travel extensively throughout the UK.Desirable
Previous experience within the food manufacturing or food machinery sector.
Experience working with automated weighing, packaging, and food processing equipment.
Knowledge of FMCG production environments. Benefits
