About the Role
We are looking for a passionate and experienced Team Leader to join a newly registered 3-bed children's residential home in Burton upon Trent.
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a brand-new service from the beginning, helping to establish a positive, child-centred culture and supporting young people to achieve the best possible outcomes. Working alongside the Registered Manager and Deputy Manager, you will lead by example, provide guidance to the staff team, and ensure the highest standards of care are delivered at all times.
Working Pattern
Shift Pattern: 1 day on, 2 days off
Shift Times: Starting at 7:00am or 7:30am and finishing at 8:00am the following morning
Sleep-in Rate: £70 per sleep-in
Key Responsibilities
* Support the Registered Manager with the day-to-day running of the home.
* Lead shifts and provide guidance and supervision to Residential Support Workers.
* Deliver high-quality, child-focused care in line with individual care plans.
* Promote positive behaviour and build trusting relationships with children and young people.
* Ensure safeguarding procedures are followed and concerns are reported appropriately.
* Complete and oversee accurate daily records, incident reports and care documentation.
* Support children with education, health appointments, family contact and recreational activities.
* Administer medication in line with company policies where required.
* Contribute to care planning, risk assessments and placement planning.
* Promote a positive, therapeutic environment that enables children to thrive.
* Act as a role model, maintaining professional standards and encouraging best practice within the team.
Essential Requirements
* Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
* Previous experience working within a children's residential home.
* Experience leading shifts or supporting staff within a residential setting.
* Good knowledge of safeguarding, Children's Homes Regulations 2015 and Quality Standards.
* Strong communication, leadership and organisational skills.
* Full UK driving licence.
* Right to work in the UK.
Desirable
Working towards or willing to undertake a Level 4 or Level 5 qualification in Residential Childcare.
Experience supporting children with emotional and behavioural needs (EBD), trauma or complex needs.
Experience within an Ofsted-regulated children's home.
