Job Description
We are looking to appoint a creative, enthusiastic, and dedicated Art Teacher to join a successful secondary school in Leicester from the new term.
The successful candidate will have a passion for inspiring creativity and self-expression, delivering engaging Art lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the opportunity to teach Key Stage 5 depending on experience. You will encourage students to develop their artistic skills, explore a wide range of media and techniques, and build confidence in their creative abilities.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced teacher or an Early Career Teacher (ECT) seeking to join a supportive and forward-thinking department committed to achieving outstanding outcomes and fostering a lifelong appreciation of the arts.
Key Responsibilities

Plan and deliver engaging, high-quality Art lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4.
Inspire students to develop their creativity, technical skills, and artistic confidence.
Teach a range of artistic disciplines, including drawing, painting, printmaking, sculpture, and mixed media.
Prepare students for internal assessments and external examinations where appropriate.
Assess, monitor, and track student progress, providing clear and constructive feedback.
Maintain high expectations for behaviour, effort, and achievement.
Create an inclusive and stimulating classroom environment that encourages creativity and learning.
Contribute to the development of schemes of work and departmental resources.
Support extracurricular activities, exhibitions, and enrichment opportunities.
Work collaboratively with colleagues to share best practice and raise standards.
Attend parents' evenings, staff meetings, and ongoing professional development activities.Requirements

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
A degree in Art, Fine Art, Art & Design, or a related subject.
Experience teaching Art at secondary school level.
Strong subject knowledge and enthusiasm for creative education.
The ability to motivate and engage students of all abilities.
Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
A commitment to promoting high standards of achievement and inclusion.
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
Experience teaching GCSE Art is desirable.
Experience teaching A-Level Art would be advantageous.What's on Offer
