Initial 6 Month Contract | Immediate Start
TechNET IT are partnering with a global technology consultancy supporting a major UK FS organisation on a large-scale AWS cloud security transformation.
We're looking for an experienced AWS Cloud DevSecOps Engineer to join a Cloud Security Operations team responsible for protecting and supporting enterprise AWS platforms.
This isn't a purely project-based DevSecOps position. You'll play a key role in day-to-day cloud security operations, production support, vulnerability remediation and automation across a large AWS estate.
The Role
Working within an established Cloud Security Operations function, you'll investigate and remediate security findings, support production AWS environments and build automation to improve operational efficiency.
You'll take ownership of cloud security incidents from identification through to remediation while working closely with Security, Infrastructure and Engineering teams to improve the overall security posture of the platform.
What You'll Be Doing
- Investigating and resolving AWS security incidents across enterprise environments.
- Owning Security Hub, GuardDuty, AWS Inspector and AWS Config findings through to remediation.
- Supporting Linux (RHEL) production environments and troubleshooting complex operational issues.
- Performing root cause analysis and implementing long-term preventative improvements.
- Managing vulnerabilities across EC2, IAM, VPC, ECS/Fargate, S3, RDS and supporting AWS services.
- Automating operational and security processes using Python, Bash, PowerShell, Ansible and AWS-native services.
- Supporting BAU cloud operations, production incidents and on-call activities.
- Working with Security, Infrastructure and Development teams to continuously improve cloud security and operational resilience.
What We Are Looking For
We're keen to speak with engineers who have strong hands-on experience across:
- AWS Cloud Operations or DevSecOps
- Linux (RHEL) administration and troubleshooting
- AWS Security Hub
- Amazon GuardDuty
- AWS Inspector
- AWS Config
- Vulnerability Management
- Incident Management & Root Cause Analysis
- IAM, EC2, VPC, Lambda, S3, RDS and ECS/Fargate
- Python, Bash, PowerShell or Ansible
- Datadog or similar monitoring platforms
- ITIL/ServiceNow environments
Desirable experience includes Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes/EKS, CI/CD security and AWS certifications.
About You
You'll be someone who enjoys solving complex technical problems and is comfortable working within live production environments. You'll have a proactive approach to troubleshooting, be confident working independently and take ownership of issues from investigation through to resolution.
Strong communication skills are essential, as you'll regularly work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders while driving security improvements across the AWS platform.
Additional Information
- Hybrid working - 3 days per week onsite in Stratford, London.
- Participation in an on-call rota is required.
- Candidates must hold, or be eligible to obtain, UK SC Clearance.
- Immediate interviews available.
