Our client is seeking a highly skilled Tail Lift Fitter to join their specialised coach building team based in Trafford Park. Install, service, and repair a range of commercial vehicle tail lifts, including column, tuckaway, cantilever, and passenger lifts
Carry out LOLER inspections, ensuring all certification and documentation meet legal safety standards
Diagnose and repair vehicle electrical systems, including wiring, lighting circuits, and control units
Work with hydraulic systems: hose replacements, ram repairs, pump servicing, and leak detection
Assist in integrating tail lifts into new vehicle builds and conversions alongside the coach building team
Conduct thorough pre-delivery checks to ensure all lifting equipment is safe, functional, and compliant
Maintain accurate records of service, repairs, and inspections as a Tail Lift Fitter
Follow all health and safety procedures to sustain a safe working environment
Provide technical support and advice to colleagues and customers as requiredRequirements of a Tail Lift Fitter:

Essential LOLER certification with proven experience in performing statutory inspections
Strong knowledge of vehicle wiring, electrical fault-finding, and 12V/24V systems
Understanding of hydraulic systems and related components
Experience fitting or maintaining tail lifts, mobility lifts, or similar lifting equipment
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and installation manuals
Full UK driving licence
Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach
Attention to detail and commitment to high standards of workmanship
Ability to work independently and as part of a teamDesirable experience to be a Tail Lift Fitter:

Previous experience in a coach building, commercial vehicle bodywork, or automotive engineering environment
